Immediacy Designer training
We offer two courses aimed at Designers these being:
XHTML/CSS Primer: 1 day
Who Should Attend
This course is ideally suited to those
individuals who;
- Have recently made the move into a web page design/creation
role
- Design/create pages using Graphical Design tools, such as
Dreamweaver, and have had no previous requirement to work with the
base XHTML files
- Those planning to attend the Design Course whose XHTML/CSS
knowledge may need refreshing.
The course involves a number of workshops
during which attendees will create web pages from scratch and
gradually extend them to make full use of CSS styles and
positioning attributes. Consideration of accessibility concerns are
also taken into account.

Aims and Objectives
By the end of this course attendees will have
covered:
- Using the different options available to position elements
within a page.
This course is designed to equip its attendees
with the knowledge necessary to enable them to maximize benefits of
attending the Immediacy Design (Template Creation) Course.

CMS Design (template creation) training: 1 day
Who Should Attend
This course is ideally suited to all
individuals involved in the creation of Immediacy CMS templates.
Attendees undertake a number of workshops designed to equip them
with a range of knowledge including how to change the default
styles used by the Immediacy Editor, how to create multiple
editable area templates and how to create customised menus using
the Immediacy menu plug-ins. Template design with an eye towards
Search Engine Optimisation is also covered.
Course Prerequisites
- Attendance of the Standard Editor
Course.
- Familiarity with CSS, HTML, XHTML to a level
equivalent to that gained by attending the XHTML/CSS Primer
course.
Aims and Objectives
By the end of this course attendees will have
covered:
- Changing the default styles used by the Editor
- Setting up site wide, template specific and user selectable
styles
- Creation of templates with multiple editable areas
- Insertion of plug-ins into templates
- Having plug-ins render their output compliant with preferred
formats/styles.
- Producing Editor ‘mock ups’ of plug-in output
- Allowing for different styles to be applied in the Editor and
the live site.
This course is designed to equip its attendees
with the knowledge to allow them to build Immediacy templates
either from scratch or from existing, non-Immediacy templates. It
is aimed primarily at Designers but should also be seen as an
essential introduction for the Developer Course.
