Multi-channel delivery
The Government is acutely aware of the dangers a divided society
creates. Despite the rapid uptake of home computer and internet
access, such a division continues to grow in the population's
ability to access information.
e-Government guidelines clearly express the Government's
desire for Public Sector organisations to explore different means
to provide information to the public via other devices,
particularly mobile phones and digital television.
In Immediacy, content is saved in a central repository as XML
and XHTML allowing re-purposing for different platforms:
- Content is separated from presentation
- Content can be re-used effectively in different settings, using
different templates for a different audience.
- Straightforward to create a completely new visual design or
style for a site or its sections without losing content.
- Layout is governed by templates and cascading style sheets
(CSS).
