Content Management & Brand Control

Content creation can be delegated to team members and controlled with a flexible permissions and workflow system. Branding is enforced with the use of "templates" and "stylesheets". All content can be subjected to editorial approval before being published to a public web site.

 

Content can be re-branded for different web sites or re-purposed to support alternative devices such as PDA or mobile phone browsers. Pages (or groups of pages) can also be automatically converted into PDF format for offline viewing.

 

To improve efficiency, content can be shared between pages or even between websites.

 

Permissions and Authentication

Immediacy has a sophisticated permissions system that provides for very fine grained control over your content.

 

"Single sign-on" can be enabled for Immediacy editors, administators and intranet visitors using LDAP or NT authentication.

 

It doesn't usually make sense to authenticate website visitors against your organisations LDAP directory (although you can if you want). In this case, where you need to control access to a public website you can either use the built-in Immediacy membership sub-system or Immediacy supports authentication against external membership systems.

  • Document Management - Immediacy supports the publication, versioning and control of documents over the web. We have a fully integrated browser based document management system.
  • Blogs - Immediacy has an excellent corporate blogging tool which features approval of comments and a "blog rollup" facility which consolidates multiple individual blogs into a single summary page. This is a great feature for improving enterprise collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Forum - Immedacy has a fully featured forum to allow visitors to engage in online discussions. For the technically minded, the forum is XML based can be customised by changing XSLT stylesheets.
  • RSS - Immediacy supports both reading and writing of RSS feeds.
  • Search - Immediacy includes a fast, effective search engine which features near instantaneous indexing of documents and context sensitive document summaries.
  • Dynamic PDF Conversion - Immediacy supports the dynamic conversion of web pages into PDF documents. This means you can place a "download this page as a pdf" link on any / every page of your site and have the pdf automatically  kept up to date as the page content changes.
  • One to Many Deployment - Immediacy can support a sophisticated deployment model where content is created and edited on a staging server before being published to a production server. For reasons such performance or geographical location of servers, content can be deployed from one staging server to many live servers if required.

Integration with External Applications

Immediacy websites are built and configured using standard Microsoft development tools and environments. This means integration with other applications is usually straight forward.
